Distortion and delay
Distortion pushes the sound into clipping. The Soft style is like a hot tape machine or a tube amp: it rounds off the peaks and adds warm harmonics, so a bass growls and sits forward.
Delay repeats the sound in time with the tempo, so a short part becomes a rhythm. Feedback sets how many times it repeats.
Your turn. Add Distortion and Delay. The target is warmer and grittier, with echoes.
